The Battery Ventures Externship Program partners with students to give them real-world investing experience while in undergrad.

This externship gives undergraduate students real-world investment experience while teaching a professional caliber course curriculum on venture capital. Students will learn how to source deals, conduct due diligence, build ARR waterfalls, read/edit term sheets, and much more. Students also receive academic credit in exchange for their work in the program. During the program, students will also network with founders and investors within the industry. This program is held remotely via Zoom.
OVERVIEW
The Battery Ventures Externship Program takes place over three semesters; each extern is required to commit to the first two semesters and is given the option to complete the third. In addition to committing to the mandatory first two semesters, externs are given a bar they must meet in order to continue in the program and to ultimately use the Battery Ventures name on their resume.
The three semesters of our externship are broken down as follows:
Sourcing externs will undergo a professional caliber course curriculum on venture capital. Externs will learn how to source deals, conduct deal diligence, build ARR waterfall models, read and edit term sheets, and much more. During the program, students will also network with founders and investors within the industry. Guest speakers, including investors at other firms, CEOs of successful startups, and Battery leadership will come weekly to present to the externship cohort.
Committing to completing both the sourcing and diligence externship is required.
